This White and Paua Blue Short Maori Korowai is perfect for graduations or other ceremonies where it provides the look of a korowai without the full length.
This korowai, or kahu huruhuru to be exact, is made by a Maori lady of Ngati Porou descent. It has a knitted taniko top, with white feathers at the top and paua blue feathers. If you want different coloured feathers, let us know. You can choose different coloured feathers here.
The taniko has a patiki pattern. Pātiki (flounder) designs are based on the diamond shape of the flounder fish. The flounder is a symbol of favourable times, prosperity and good luck.
This korowai measures approximately 1m wide, and 20cm (8') deep. It is lined.
NB: If we are out of stock at the time you order, allow 2 weeks for it to be made.
Proudly Maori made in New Zealand, and shipped worldwide.
The korowai is also available in a deluxe black gift box - perfect if this is a presentation piece. The photo of the boxed short korowai is a representative photo, showing one of our other short korowai boxed.
